I’ve got instructions on the evening meeting and all should be good unless I don’t get a flight in there - or in other words like an act of God type of thing.

So here is how it goes:

Tuesday - ITU/UN meeting in the delegates dining room that evening.

Wednesday - No formal meetings, but I will try - for the first time - to get into the General Assembly Hall in the morning. This is open to those who have a grounds pass and it is first come - first served. This would be better if I had my hotel a few blocks away but the cost was insane! If it’s a close all - I could also try the afternoon shift. But we shall see how it goes; certainly anyone who goes down there and has no event - well this is it for them. But I cannot imagine anyone flying down to New York City and paying 1200.00 a night with no real business at the UN…..

Thursday - Two events so I’ll be there all day and run to the plane after 8:00pm.

I also Xeroxed (old fart term) my acceptance letters to get special event passes for those events I’m in. I just do the things that need to
be done and scratch them off the list.

And so it goes.….

Goodnight…..

I’m getting last minute directives for all those events I’m registered for - but one bothered me because it was on the first day and then they added some secret sauce to the mix:

Yes - two events in one and that last minute event would bring in the world leaders for some comment. Mother F****er - what luck! And probably that whole “statehood” thing would get brought up on Monday also…..

The Fates

No matter - On Tuesday you are not a member of the audience, but an advocate circling the water like a shark for targets to help my advocacy actually get somewhere. I wanted this and now The Fates have given it to me. I have to avoid the distractions.

I’ll write up a short pitch statement if I get the chance.

My strategy has worked. I came up with ideas for a new layer of global interaction with the Positive Mandate for Humanity and governance by the Worldwide Vote. Now you are starting to push things among people who can actually turn this into flesh! You are now in a different universe than most people. The UN next week “is” the vortex of power and influence for the planet. Don’t be a member of the audience but act and let them react. Sell your vision to people stuck in boredom in their life yet have the ability to make things happen! That happens Tuesday night…..

Stay focused!

Now watch reality ruin that vision of success in my mind - Hahahaha…..

Goodnight…..

I’ve updated the voting apps for the newest operating systems and we have a new question (Do you think having a Worldwide Vote at the United Nations or the ITU will aid in policy making on global issues of interest to all?):

Our Worldwide Vote application is currently optimized for Android 16 and iOS26! In partnership with More Vision Inc., part of IAIJ’s identity is its commitment to be good corporate citizens of the world in our advocacy to make the world a better and happier place. As such, we presented advocacy at the United Nations (2017) regarding a worldwide vote at the UN as a popular vote on global propositions to aid in policy making. An Android app was coded by our Founder and President Maurice Ali for demonstration purposes at the time. However, now we have put it up refreshed for download at the Google Play Store and Apple App Store!

Search with quotes around Worldwide Vote and it pops up!

If you have an Apple or Android device all you have to do is search for “Worldwide Vote” (include the quotation marks) in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and you will see the Worldwide Vote application distributed by More Vision Inc. which is a small advertising company Maurice owns or IAIJ for Apple devices. The app will also run for legacy devices through our own APK application available from the Worldwide Vote website for Android devices.

For those with no phone or Linux phone you can try out our web based voting portal at:

IAIJ: JOURNALISTS IN ACTION AROUND THE WORLD!

Right now it looks like Monday will be those two functions I’m registered to be there for, and the Palestinian statehood stuff. The speeches start on Tuesday with Brazil and then The United States of America. That means Manhattan will be locked down when I arrive just before 9:00am. They close down a single street from the Secretariat Building all the way up into Hell’s Kitchen and zap all nearby microwave communications anywhere near the “Beast” and the rest of the US Presidential caravan. I’ll have to get up to the UN early to get the pass and then head up to the hotel from there. Then go down to the event for 5:00pm to get through all the security there.

On Wednesday I may try to get into the General Assembly Hall and have a look around. Thursday has my two events - but - also Thursday is a meeting to establish a UN agency devoted to Artificial Intelligence - for the first time. I find it cool to be in there as that happens as the AI thing is a big deal for me.

Anyway, as much as I hype things up, the reality may be much less in the end. It puts you in a funk even on a Saturday before anything happens. It’s going to rain every day while I’m there - befitting the mood. I don’t know - it’s just not as optimistic as it was starting out ten years ago…..

For Saturday I was buying toiletries for the trip and a micro umbrella just in case. It’s just depressing to set things up with business cards and the apps and a pitch statement and in reality it all probably goes nowhere. But you have to try and never give up!

Goodnight…..

It seems many of my websites went off-line last night. FOF and IAIJ are back online but for some strange reason iaij.com is not. Usually it’s the forums as technically iaij.org does not run them (this keeps the association from being sued) as it is run by another corporation called International Archiving of Independent Journalists Inc. and has done so for 22 years. Was this attack happenstance or a message - I don’t know? The servers are on the west coast so I will find out in four hours. It’s not the end of the world and I can just port the forums to the Fortress News website in a pinch. But the timing of this is suspect though…..

Back to the trip:

I have my one minute pitch for the Worldwide Vote - it’s finished. That pitch won’t happen though. But you have to be prepared because you never know…..

If I didn’t have that connection to the UN, my life would be so safe and focused. It would be boring but more secured. In reality I’m better off this way. Status with the UN allows me to keep pushing a totally hated but necessary Worldwide Vote. Almost everyone hates it but I get to push it because I have status. I have grounds passes to New York, Geneva, Vienna, Kenya - worldwide. Anyway, they are polite to me because the UN has rules. Take the UN out of it and I’m a marked man of sorts. Someone has to push this stuff and not for a family man.

So as long as I have status I get to be a pest of sorts for the establishment there. I represent change and the establishment hates that. The closest thing in film to this is “The Continental” in the “John Wick” movies which is a safe haven or neutral territory for criminals and organized crime establishments to be civil to each other and talk and socialize. Not saying member nations are like organized crime in the John Wick movies - but aside from that there are parallels that’s all. Getting kicked out is like being jumped when you leave a gang. You are out and on your own.

Me and the UN are like that. I wanted this and I did get jumped when I tried to join up - took me three months to get over that trauma back in 2015. And they were just being nice to me back then - they were just being themselves and I had to adapt. I’m going to lose some security when I get kicked out. Of course giving up controversial advocacy keeps you stay in, but I have a job to do so ultimately I will probably be kicked out - just like in the John Wick movies…..

Like the song by Guns & Roses: “Welcome to the Jungle”…..

Ok, in New York.

I had the plane to myself, the US thing and the recent Air Canada strike did this and I appreciate finally having all the room I want! Oh, I usually use wireless air buds but don the wired ones to save battery power before I get to the hotel for a recharge.

I’m staying up near Times Square so I’ll head up there and stow my luggage at the hotel, do a quick recon as to where everything is and get ready for the evening event.

Later…..

Yes I scored on my 66th birthday yesterday.

I came in on a mission to ramp up advocacy from attending meetings and issuing written statements and the occasional speech, to direct advocacy to higher ups in the UN system - this time at the Delegate’s Dining Room at the UN Secretariat Building at an ITU event!

(L-R) Will.i.am / Doreen Bogdan-Martin / Haoliang Xu (UNDP)

That happened last night in a big way. I started by taking a table that wasn’t reserved (and off to the side by the entrance/exit so I can get photos) and started pitching my Worldwide Vote ideas to the table. Turns out a few at the table and many in attendance were with the ITU from Geneva - so I was already advocating to the ITU for the first time.

But it gets better, as the Secretary General of the ITU (Doreen Bogdan-Martin) was saying hi to people she knew and a gap opened up and I got up and just introduced myself and rather cryptically asked her when she got a moment to check out this idea I have on the back of my business card and I let her go on with her pre-meeting activities.

I was a bit pissed off that I had my suit top off and on the back of my chair, I hope my shirt wasn’t too wrinkled from packing - and I was pissed I never directly told her it was about a worldwide vote. Anyway I started working the crowd myself and here she was walking past me so I blurted out “It’s about a Worldwide Vote” and she said I know I looked at it! So there it was - I got my message directly to the Secretary General of the ITU! That was “the” score last night…..

Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York!

Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York, was also there. The unique thing was that I photographed her during her speech but then later there she is just a few feet away from me talking to her people right where I am. I shot a few poorly shot photos of her as I didn’t want to be obvious and then she was gone.

Will.i.am

Same thing happened with Will.i.am of the Black Eyes Peas! I shot a nice photo of him with the Secretary General, then when he made a speech about his advocacy, and again there he was just a few feet from me talking to people waiting to leave.

Worldwide Vote on the back of the IAIJ business card!

Anyway, that was the type of night it was. Aside from me advocating and then leaving those Worldwide Vote cards like a dealer spreads a deck at the table (should have took a pic of that) - I helped some of the woman photograph themselves on the patio against the back of the East River. I’m also a photographer and saying “no” to any of the women there could have ended up like this: Fergie asked you to help her take a photo and you said you were too busy? You get the idea as I never know everyone there, so you go through the motions and hope for the best.

I have to get out and about even though this is technically a non-UN day. I still have to pickup passes (for tomorrow) today and all that. A walk in Central Park would be nice and a trip to B&H Photo is on the cards…..

Goodnight…..

Remember when I said I wanted a small number of really good luck and paid for with a lot of small amounts of bad luck - well - Pay Back Time!

So the lead up to the Tuesday event was crappy with lots of small bad luck. Just one after another. Late taxi to the airport, airplane delay, BH Photo closed unexpectedly on Tuesday for a Jewish holiday - so walked all the way there for nothing. Then I saw a Sam Ash musical store - wow I can check some guitars - get there and out of business. That sort of thing but really mild bad luck.

Then I scored at the UN event. Next day:

The new glasses frames got bent on the bed at the hotel. Pissed off but they bent back. So the Fates had them fall off later onto the ceramic floor and shatter one expensive Zeiss lens. I was actually surprised both didn’t shatter but whatever, I had a spare. Then I remembered those lenses had one shatter in 2021 and if I got lucky I could then use the good lens from that accident to replace the one that just broke (Zeiss changed the glass slightly and made me two new ones for the price of one) I checked the photo to see if I got lucky. Nope - the same side shattered so no good luck there! See how this worked out - like conservation of energy, there is conservation of luck and the good luck on my birthday had to be paid with bad luck and here it all came.

I want it this way. It’s expensive but it’s not my health or anything like that.

See how this works out. See that old guy in the expensive sports car - don’t get jealous as he could have a terminal illness and bought that car just to have some more fun while he still could. I planned this when I had a biopsy being tested for cancer (just a mark on my lip that was cut out and it was nothing). So if it was cancer I was buying a Corvette Z06 before I could not even get in it later on. There is always shit like that going on in people’s lives. I want moments of really good luck paid for by lots of little and aggravating bits of bad luck to bring it all into balance. Check it out in your in life and you will see I’m correct about all that…..

Goodnight….

Home…..

For the advocacy this trip was a complete success. Today was a three event day and also a success! A recap tomorrow…..

For everything else the trip sucked! But I’ll take it with the huge upside for the orgs and advocacy - that’s the way I like it!

For now I just want to get home, check on the family and lick my wounds….

Back at home.

I checked in on the family and had a usual supper at home for a change. Then I went downstairs to my old bed room at my dad’s place and fell asleep and just woke up in the middle of the night.

The Fates

Anyway, I feel totally fine - as in 100% - and for someone who just turned 66, man, that is like something out of the Twilight Zone. I guess The Mythical Fates really did give me a few extra years to make this play!

My iPhone really can take some nice pictures!

I have to catch up with things in the morning. And yes, I did check out things at the General Assembly Hall first thing on Thursday and the Head of State speeches carry on into Friday. That in itself is a story but I also had my two events going on that I attended afterward.

I take the worst selfies - but yes I was actually there!

But the whole three days was literally just running around to places on your feet. On Wednesday when I got up I thought I couldn’t continue walking as I had blisters under my right foot. But a massage and just tenderly trying to walk and I was good as new - just like a guy in his teens and twenties. Then another day running around and a couple of hours sleep and you are totally issue free, not a pain or twitch in the entire body. In fact you are energized and rarring to go!

That is just bonkers, but there you have it. I have to go to the opticians and replace that one lens, that will hurt - but not physically - only financially - the way I like it…..

I’ll have to explain it - but as an advocacy organization we are at a different level now. It’s like breaking the sound barrier for the first time. I’ll get into it of course when I can actually relax a bit. But we as an organization and as an advocate are now in a different place than last week…..

I’m so pumped I’m actually looking to change our policy of continuing to go it alone “lone wolf” style. Note our LinkedIn profile has me at two connections - 2 after 20 years! And I would have preferred 0 connections. Because we are promoting provocative change, any connections connected to our ideas going forward will taint those that connected with us possibly in a negative way. So I did it alone. But now things have changed a bit. Still a bit hesitant about changing the lone wolf advocacy - just yet…..

As an analogy, consider a group of people finally getting in the FOF Train” with all its idealism and hope and opportunity. It all good and fun as the train pulls out of the station, but then it starts to pick more and more speed and you are now clutching your seat nervously - sort of like that.

Anyway, I should try to get back to sleep. And that was another change - I can actually get a good nights sleep in Manhattan for the first time in ten years!

Anyway…..

Goodnight again…..

Sorry for the late one but I’ve been running around.

When I got back to Toronto there was two things I had to do first. One was to get my shattered lens replaced as this would take a few weeks. The second was to see if I could buy myself a new iPhone for my birthday that happened last Tuesday. As an aside, the reason I changed my hotel from my usual one near the UN building was to save some cash that could be applied against the cost of the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max. So I went from an “ok” hotel room on 3rd Avenue to this tiny room in 8th avenue. I had to walk further everywhere and that gave me the blister on my right foot for example. Best part was that I had a one night free coupon from Hotels.com that could be used there. I ended up saving 1,400 dollars that way - almost half the cost of the phone right there!

So one of my Zeiss lenses getting smashed really pissed me off as I figured that was 1 grand right there. Anyway this iPhone was my birthday present to me by me and I was going to do it on Friday before circumstances and rational thought steered me away.

My new iPhone 17 Pro Max!

Actually you could not find an iPhone Pro Max anywhere as the were just put on delivery last Friday, but I made a deal with myself that if the Apple Store had a silver Pro Max with 1tb I would buy it immediately. I get to the Apple Store down the road and they tell me all the Pro Maxes are gone. I tell the lady to check in the back as they usually get a few every day. She checks and - low and behold - they had a silver Pro Max, only problem was that it had 2tb and cost 3,000 dollars (Can). 1tb was my minimum up From the 512gig I had in my current phone that was specked for HD codecs and not the larger 4K. Anyway, 2tb was not ideal but not a deal breaker, so I said “sold” and the phone was mine!

The new phone will improve an evening photos like this at the UN on Tuesday!

I quickly bought a screen protector and I quickly searched for a case at BestBuy and then started the whole transfer process. From past experience I figured a week or the last week of my vacation to finish it all up. Most of it was done by holding the two phones next to each other and the last experience was the 12-14 iPhone Pro Max and that was a bit of a disaster. I actually was impressed enough to think that almost all of it was done automatically and yes - most of it transferred, but after a day you see how much work still needs to be done. Rule number one is to keep the old phone around as you will need it to move everything over. I’m finding out that now as apps have glitches and emails that have to be signed into again. This will take a while. I have to pair it to my car again for example and change the cable to USBC. Even returns paid in the old phone can’t happen on the new phone even with the same credit card - it just never ends! So that’s what is happening now. I had to return the first case as it was not tough enough for me. That was ZAGG, and Otterbox disappointed me with leaving the “plateau” exposed to dents and scrapes. In the end it was Pelican that had enough coverage. Advertised for military use and a 24’ drop rating, I figured a 4’ drop would work in real life. A big lip around the front screen even with the extra screen protector on and coverage in the back for the plateau and I was sold on this case.

At the UN shooting the East River at night!

A quick test shows the new phone has the reach I wished I had last Tuesday and the new codecs I already have with the Pocket 4K and DaVinci Resolve (ProRes Raw) and enough memory to hold photos and videos on a trip where you can’t offload footage until you get home. Better low light performance is also welcome. So far no buyer’s remorse and this now becomes my movie making “C” camera. And that is where it stands now.

The lens replacement was a pleasant surprise costing half what I thought it would be. Only downside was waiting a few weeks.

I also mowed the lawn at my father‘s place on Saturday.

Now I have to catch up on emails and all that - it just never ends.

Goodnight…..

My new iPhone 17 Pro Max!

The iPhone 17 brings a cheaper manufactured phone (soft aluminum) in a truly ugly form. They have it in plain anodized 700 series aluminum and stressed that this would help with heat dissipation which was a problem on the titanium sided phones. But tests show the 17 Pro Max throttled back faster than the 16 Pro Max without the vapor chamber and with titanium.

Moving on to the cameras, we see the photos are the same except the optical zoom drops from 5X to 4X with the 8X digital looking the same as the 16 Pro Max digitally zoomed in. The only upside to the cameras is Apple Log 2, Open-Gate in all sensors, and ProRes Raw which is absolutely huge! All the really pro video features started with the iPhone 15 so I missed out with the iPhone 14 Pro Max of mine.

The display is actually more scratch resistant with new coatings that reduce glare - until you put on the glass screen protector which brings it (the reflections) all back. Don’t worry as the new coatings never matched the Samsung coatings anyway…..

iOS26 brings new meaning to a “shit storm of problems”. When Posting to these forums an ellipse shows the web address in the middle of the screen with an even larger ellipse below it with a big check mark for me to use when I never needed it. The liquid glass crap only runs the new chip harder and burns through the extra battery life you thought you had.

As always - after 15 years of use. The software and Apple intelligence still can’t offer up a suggestion like - “Iwill/I will - nope too much effort required there! But Indigress….. I mean I digress…..

So why did I buy it? The professional video features and then extra storage and “keeping up with the Jones” at UN events. All the phones end up on the table there and everyone sees what phone you are rock’in. I’m supposed to be this CEO dude so I better look the part. In the end I’m wearing a $3,300.00 (CAN) iPhone - the priciest one you can get - so I’m good for a few years. You can get away with cheap wrinkled suits as everyone - and I mean everyone - has been there and done that. But an expensive phone speaks volumes just like a well worn $200.00 Ridge wallet does - and yes they eyeball that thing when I pull it out; petty and pretentious - but reality! I show up wearing a cheap wrinkled mess but rocking one of the most expensive phones you can buy - bingo - you still have respect…..

Anyway, since the phone is just cheap aluminum I got the meanest toughest case I could find and it all is fitted and I’m set. The aluminum will still wear out under the rubber and plastic, but secretly, I don’t care. You try your best and no regrets.

I bought this for ProRes Raw and ProRes in general and Log 2 and Open Gate sensors and genlock all accessed with a Blackmagic plug-in dongle with what looks like SDI out! That is just insane stuff for a cell phone! The 2tb is needed for trips with video and photos. I will just fill up this memory while copying it to my editor so I will have an extra copy directly on the phone. So the video and storage actually makes sense to me and me and guys like me alone. For you all this is a rip off. Frankly, the plain iPhone 17 is the best value and bang for the buck for the first time in iPhone history.

And that’s my review of the new iPhone 17 Pro Max. That 2tb iPhone Pro Max had my name on it at the Apple Store. Only I could make use of it - so there you are. No buyer’s remorse so I guess I’m happy with my “ birthday present”.

Event coverage on Thursday at the United Nations is up next!

So Thursday was a whirlwind day at the United Nations.

First of all, I really wanted to check in on the General Assembly Hall speeches as I had never done that before. This was done via the balcony during General Assembly. I have been there before as I spent two days on the actual floor of the General Assembly Hall during the WSIS+10 Review meeting ostensibly to set internet governance, but also to finally recognize citizen journalists as legitimate media workers - which I was a representative (at this level practically the only citizen journalist NGO speaking on their behalf). So it was more a case of scratching that technicality off the list, and so I walked down there with my credentials and waited with a handful of people to get the special passes that are rather exclusive to non-government entities.

First of all you go to this building south of 2nd Avenue so you have to get past the first security checkpoint and then wait at the front door of the building. Then you go in - one at a time - and present your grounds pass and passport and they check your NGO status and sign off on the paper to receive your Special Event Ticket (SET) and then you go walking down to the United Nations compound. There is this huge media area about a block long with nothing but news vans and lights and cameras right in the front of the United Nations on 1st Avenue. Then you walk another block from where you would usually go for screening and they had this new temporary checkpoint and you wait there inline.

A reporter making an update in the rain!

Usually you just see the security and show them the pass and passport and then you go to screening. However, for General Assembly the guy checks your stuff out and sends you to another security dude who really checks your documents out and then asks for your grounds pass. Then - and I never saw this before - he signs the back of your pass and sends you like 15 feet down to another checkpoint. Here they scan the special event pass (never did this with the other passes) and had me place my grounds pass on a terminal where it beeped (yes, the yearly grounds passes are also card keys so you can just tap through security checkpoints in the UN buildings) and then I was off down the lane to screening.

After going through metal detectors and having all the other stuff x-rayed, you go through some more checkpoints in the Secretariat Building and reach the balcony area on the 4th floor and get checked out again and there you are in the General Assembly Hall. All that took about an hour…..

So you listen to Presidents and Prime Ministers speak on behalf of their nations and also say “hi” to others there you recognize. I stayed there for a little under an hour as I had to check out the other two events that day. Getting out of the super secured zones at the General Assembly Hall is easier than getting in, so off I went to the Non-communicable diseases event in Conference Room 1.

Conference Room 1!

This was the usual type of event I go to with nations talking about the issue one after another and the selected NGO with some special guests prickled in to break things up. I took some pictures and video and headed to the third event that day.

Conference Room 4!

The next one was about youth participation and took place in Comference room 4. I got there via the delegate’s entrance as I was already in the basement and the guard at these plexiglass tube turnstiles told me to tap my card to get in. I told him I was just a lowly NGO but he said tap the terminal and a bright green arrow appeared and in I went - In thought NGO grounds passes were deactivated during General Assembly but technically they just said “you can’t get in to the UN” with just a grounds pass, so that may be it with some extra restrictions.

Conference Room 4 is one of the larger ones with a sort of balcony to the side and a viewing pod in the ground floor. I was there in the area for nations and delegates, so I just checked things out from the side lines taking more photos and videos.

And that was basically it for Thursday at th e United Nations. I’ve been at this for ten years now, so of the novelty has worn off but it’s still exciting to be there when it literally is the vortex of power and influence once a year! And it worked for me on Tuesday as I would ever had that kind of access for our advocacy at a regular event…..

iPhone 17 Pro Max Corner:

My new phone still in the box!

The phone is now basically set up and totally functional. I have it now in a military case due to all the reports of how fragile the aluminum phones are. I just made sure the case had a large lip around the screen and protection on the “plateau” itself as even that can get dented!

But the big show was that Apple ProRes Raw actually works on this cell phone! Unbelievably, I got it to work by getting the Samsung T7 drive off my Pocket 4K and attached to a USBC Apple cable and then I could hit the record button and off it went. Now: It only recorded for 5 seconds before the buffer was used up and the recording stopped - but it did work! That was maximum bit rate so I tried the next one down. That one went for 12 seconds and then stopped. ProRes HQ seemed to go on forever. Then I tried ProRes HQ with the phone’s onboard storage and it runs forever. So basically, unless the shot is critical - I’ll use ProRes 442 and fill up those 2tb of storage in the phone with a Lut and do it all that way. Although I have to say - seeing a real movie making codec run on your everyday cellphone was just incredible. You would need a higher bitrate SSD like an Anglebird SSD to really use that off the iPhone , but no matter - that was impressive from Apple!

ProRes Raw on a cellphone!

We are now on day four and this may be my last full day setting up the phone. Right now it is not the phone but making a backup stored to my computer and getting iTunes to at synch up all my songs and videos and movies. That will be a pain in the ass - but such is life and this really the tail end of setting up your phone.

Remember - do not wipe your old phone until every app has been tested on the new phone. Then make a backup. Even then - wait one more day and then wipe the old phone….

Goodnight…..

Hey my fellow filmmakers:

It turns out you can shoot ProRes Raw internally on the iPhone Pros. You download the Final Cut Camera app and select ProRes Raw. Then you still have to hook up an ssd, but you just minimize the app remove the SSD and it will record from then on into the internal memory. Apparently forever as some have made 10 minute clips this way! Right now I can only get a few seconds on my SSD. However with the same SSD we shall see if I can get sustained internal recording as promised. The caveat is probably that this can shorten the life of the internal memory. But in a pinch for a difficult shot I will have to set and grade later - this can be a lifesaver!

Video link below and I will try this out later today…..

This is the fun stuff to do on the tail side of a vacation - but it never lasts…..

I’m actually getting back to normal…..

Amazing that it only took four days! But some rather big things got decided inside of a week.

First of all the advocacy is back in high gear. I had goals to move the advocacy from what we had been doing and that happened last week in spades:

https://fortressoffreedom.com/Goal.mp3

I didn’t have to slowly work my way up to a meeting with the Secretary General of the ITU, I just went up to her and pitched the idea two times and left her with my business card on one side and the Worldwide Vote on the other.

https://fortressoffreedom.com/Goal.mp3

Then I advocated some of her employees with the more expanded ideas and one came back at the end of the event and said he would try to help me out with the idea there. You can’t ask any more from me at that event…..

So I was in this funk truly getting ready to scale things back because of the futility of it all and - just like that - you are back in it rejuvenated and invigorated. That doesn’t mean anything will happen from that event, it is just that if things do happen they happen quickly - I am a realist so don’t count on that - but we have drastically evolved our advocacy making things much more of a reality than the previous 10 years…..

So rather than quietly closing thing up and saving my pennie’s for retirement, it’s business as usual with the new phone for better photos and video that fits in with our work flow. Yesterday I just went and bought a video monitor we needed but talked myself out of. But we need it so I got it with a mount and I will go back to Vistek to buy a special mount for the Canon camcorder that clears the shotgun microphone.

All I’m doing is carrying on at the level I always have. Truth is I was contemplating scaling back in the effort and at my age when you lose
momentum you never get it back as you have to work harder and faster than before to make it up later. You can do this when your are younger, but not when your are my age. All you can do is keep things where they are.

So the plan getting back was to get the new phone and the monitor to round out the video purchase coverage of our advocacy play. And actually now - it is worthwhile archiving this stuff again, but now in 4K. The kicker was that with all the bad luck I still felt healthy and full of energy coming back home. How bizarre is that?

So we now move forward firing on all cylinders. If - after all that happening in the last week - I still decided to start closing shop; I swear some folk from my past that I know follow me here, would show up at my house and beat the living shit out of me for being a coward and a moron! However, I’m not, you only live once and I’m going all out!

Goodnight…..
